Do you ever wonder why you are here? What is your purpose? How is one’s life defined? Is it by the amount of money you make? Is it the legacy you leave behind? Is it by how successful you are? Who determines what that success is?
I have often wondered what my purpose in life was. I also wondered who do I want to be, not necessarily what do I want to be.
When I was younger, I wanted to be a star athlete. I had dreams of hitting that last home run or making the winning shot in a big game. All of these things were great at the time, but as I got older, my perspective on life changed. Now who I want to be is a good husband, father, co-worker, and friend. This is the legacy I want to leave behind. I would much rather have someone say, “Wow! I remember him as being a great father who always put his family first.” This would be much better than “Wow! I remember what a great athlete he was.”
People often ask why I wrote the book. It is simple! Just like it is stated in the chapters, it is not my job to change your thinking, but rather make you think, one reader at a time!
