Angels or Virtual Visions

Father Smith always had a way of taking the sermon and applying it to our everyday life.  Today was no different.  He was talking about learning to accept help and how anything was possible through or with God.

“My brothers and sisters, it is ok to ask for help once in a while.  We all do it, but we should learn to do it more.  You are not a
lesser man or woman because you asked for help.  Your pride is not challenged!  The Bible says that those who exalt
themselves will be brought down while those who humble themselves will be raised up by God.”

He continued to talk about how we all face challenges that become somewhat tolerable when we have the help and support of others.  Then, he added how anything was possible through or with God.

“This reminds me of a story.  It is about Elijah and the horses.  He was sent to tell King Ahab that the three year drought would be
over.  He went to the top of Mount Carmel and saw a cloud form over the sea.  He then proceeded to run from Mount Carmel to
Jezreel.  It was about twenty miles.  In the process, he outran the horses and chariots.  A man outran horses!  How?  How did he
do that?  He had the help of God.  That’s how!  Anything is possible when we have God’s help.”

I began to wonder how this was possible.  Could that really happen?  After mass we headed home, and I went to finish some schoolwork.  What happened next shocked even me!  As I was sitting at my computer, I felt as though someone was in the room with me, so I slowly turned around.

"My name is Andrew, and I am an angel.

I could not believe what I was hearing.  So, I repeated what he had said.

"Are you really an angel?  If so, how did you get here?  What do you want?  Why are you showing yourself to me?"
"These are all great questions, Daniel, and I promise I will answer everyone one of them, but for now, let's just take everything very
      slowly."

I was not sure what he meant by slowly, but I would do my best to comply with what he was asking.

"How many times have you prayed and asked for help?  How many times have you said you just wanted to have a conversation
with God?  How many times have you said that you wished God was as present today as He was in the Old Testament?  I am
      here for those reasons!"

I was stunned and didn't know what to say.  How do you answer something like that?  I am sure other people pray and ask the same questions I do.  Why was I the chosen one?  Why was I so special?

Andrew continued to talk.  "Everyone on this earth has a purpose, and you have wondered what your purpose has been for a very long time.  I am here to help you with that, and when we are done, you need to promise me something."

     "What?" I exclaimed!
"You need to write about everything we are talking about, and everything that is going to happen to you."
"But, I am not a writer," I said.
"That does not matter.  It is not how you write, but more importantly what you write," he stated.  "Promise me!"
     "Ok, I promise," I said.
"Good!  Now, we can get started," he said.

Andrew began by telling me that I was as stubborn as a mule, but my heart was in the right place.

"I apologize about my language.  Angels don’t normally talk like that, but, we have been watching you for a long time.  We have
been watching everyone for a long time.  Every person on earth has a guardian angel that stays with them from birth until they
      come home," he said.

"Does this mean you will tell me about heaven?  God?  Angels?"
"All in due time, my friend.  I will answer as many questions as you would like.  However, let me warn you.  You will be judged, and
many people may not believe you, but this is where being so stubborn may help you."

I guess I should not have been so shocked.  I have read numerous books on God, Jesus, and Angels and was completely fascinated.  I was also very interested in any movie with this sort of theme.  My basement had different pictures of Jesus.  I always liked to tease my wife and tell her that He would watched over me while I worked out.  If I could sit down and have a conversation with one person, it would be Him.

Andrew was right!  I talked to God often throughout the day and asked him to help guide me with certain decisions.  I often asked why I did not hear from Him.

Andrew stared at me, and I felt as though his gaze went right to my soul and said, "We will see if we can fix that hole in your heart.  I know it has been there for quite a long time, so I need to give you your homework assignments," he continued.

     "I have homework!" I exclaimed.
"Yes, you do!  You need to do two things.  First, you need to start to let people know about your life and how you got to this point.
Write it down like you would if you were writing a book.  Make chapters and describe events that were significant.  We need to
give people a background so they understand why this is happening.  Start with the beginning and stop when you reach our
conversation.  Second, you need to get yourself in the absolute best shape possible.  You have no idea what is coming, but it has
something to do with your brain research.  Talk about that as well.  I will be back in about three months."

"Ok, Andrew, I will get it done.  Do I tell my wife about you and our conversations?"
“Doesn’t your wife know about your angel fascinations?  I think she does, and I know she will be supportive, but to answer your
question, yes, please tell your wife everything.  You will need her love and support down the road.”
“Ok, I will do that as soon as we finish.”
     "And, Daniel"
     "Yes, Andrew?"

"I hope you are ready because you have no idea what is about to happen.  Nooooo idea!"

With that he disappeared, and I sat down to begin putting everything down on paper like I was asked to do.
